Electromagnetic waves carry energy when travel through space and this energy is equal divided by electric field vectors and magnetic field vectors. Electromagnetic waves are composed of photons which have momentum and energy when photon is incident on a surface, its momentum changes and hence it exerts force on the surface giving rise to pressure.
